"Each unit is 28 ft x 50 ft in size and will be sold at RM180,000.

"Public servants in this state will be given priority to purchase the houses which are expected to be ready in six months," he said after the signing of the project agreement, here, today.

Also present were Melaka State Secretary Datuk Seri Naim Abu Bakar, Melaka Housing Board executive director Saleh Md Dom and Wawasan Intact Properties directors, Datuk Ng Choon Cheng and Ng Choon Koon.

Saleh signed the agreement on behalf of Melaka Housing Board, while Wawasan Intact Properties was represented by its two directors.

Idris said the project would in future, spur various infrastructural development in the area involved, especially if a high-speed rail station were to be built there.

He said the second project would involve the building of 1,218 RMM houses and 51 shop/office units on 35.46 hectares of land at a cost of about RM194.2 million in Merlimau, Jasin.
