Get your parking coupons at MBPJ HQ now

IN LIGHT of the difficulties the public has been having in buying scratch-and-display parking coupons in Petaling Jaya, the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will be making more retail channels available.
One measure that has been implemented is that parking coupons can now be bought directly over the counter at MBPJ headquarters.
It is also available at the Section 52 commercial area at Bukit Gasing assemblyman R. Rajiv's office at 7A Jalan 52/8 behind AmBank.
"To assist residents, my office has stocked up on the parking coupons and it is available for sale from now," he said after getting feedback from residents about their troubles finding the parking coupons.
Rajiv is also in the midst of helping a number of shops in his area sign up as an agent with MBPJ.
"By this evening, coupons will be on sale at shops in PJ Old Town and the Section 17 commercial area with more locations coming soon," he said.
Rajiv urged interested parties or shop owners to register with MBPJ's finance department to become agents and sell the scratch-and-display coupons.
In the meantime, MBPJ's enforcement officers will be more lenient when going on their enforcement rounds at least for a week starting from now.
In areas where parking machines are faulty and there are no coupon agents in sight, summons will not be issued.
"This parking coupon system is a stop gap measure by MBPJ since the termination of Godell, and working parking meters are still an option for payment," he said.
