WOULD-BE residents of SkyAwani Residences at Sentul can look forward to getting their keys much earlier.

SkyWorld Development Group commemorated the early completion of the project in a successful topping off ceremony at the site.

The event reflected the good progress made in the construction of the residences which was more than 60% complete, said SkyWorld founder and group managing director Datuk Ng Thien Phing.

“We expect an early handover in August 2018, nine months ahead of schedule as it was initially slated for completion in May 2019,” he said.

The project was launched in November 2015.

SkyAwani Residences is under the Federal Territories Affordable Homes Programme (Rumawip), targeted at first-time low- and middle-income house buyers.

“It is also one of SkyWorld’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. But that does not mean we compromise on quality because we want to give homeowners the best,” Ng pointed out.

He said they were committed to value creation (strategic location and quality finishing), integrated Sky Living experience (good amenities and facilities) and innovative designs and concepts.

SkyAwani Residences is the first Rumawip affordable home that is compliant with Qlassic standards.

“Qlassic is a quality assessment system that ensures that a construction project adheres to the requirements outlined in the Construction Industry Standards of Malaysia.

“It is carried out by competent assessors appointed by the Con-struction Industry Development Board,” Ng said.

According to the Qlassic report, about 7,600 units were built in Malaysia yearly, of which only 4.1% from these projects were evaluated and approved by Qlassic, Ng added.

“Our company is in that percentage, which shows that we have successfully achieved the Qlassic status in the quality of home construction,” he said at the topping off ceremony by Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Tengku Adnan said SkyWorld’s commitment to quality projects should be praised.

“This should also be emulated by other Rumawip developers so that high-quality workmanship is emphasised in their developments.

“I believe the Rumawip project developed by SkyWorld will increase in market value and offers “value for money” to buyers.

“To date, we have achieved 67,892 units or 85% of the total target of 80,000 units by 2020 including projects under ‘completed’, ‘under construction’ as well as ‘development order approval’ or ‘development order’,” he said.

SkyAwani Residences offers 1,226 units for RM300,000. With a built-up of 800sq ft, each unit has three bedrooms and two bathrooms with one parking lot.

Together with SkyAwani 2 residences in Jalan Ipoh, SkyWorld has launched 1,934 Rumawip units in Kuala Lumpur. Both developments had a 100% take-up rate during the first day of opening.

Recently, the developer launched its third series – SkyAwani 3 in Setapak, with 1,905 Rumawip units.

Located on 1.84ha of leasehold land, the affordable home series will feature what is touted to be Malaysia’s first and longest sky gardens with three inter-connected 51-storey towers.

Similarly, each unit has an 800sq ft built-up area with a fixed price of RM300,000.

The estimated development value of SkyAwani 3 is over RM570mil.

The developer has plans for more Rumawip units in the future.
