KAJANG folk can now pay their summons through the FlexiParking mobile app’s new feature.
Motorists in Kajang are the first to make use of this updated app as it is being launched today by the Kajang Municipal Council.
The updated app is expected to be made available by the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) at the end of the month.
The app’s developer and Suasa Efektif (M) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Zainuddin Othman said the new feature would make it easier for people to pay their summonses as soon as they received them. It allows for real-time data to be uploaded immediately into the system.
The feature will scan the barcode printed on the summons slip, to ensure a seamless payment procedure.
Suasa Efektif corporate affairs and marketing executive director Datuk Tengku Taha Alfashni said the barcode served as a safety and security wall.
“We do not want users to key in other vehicle number plates to find their summons nor do we want people to pay someone else’s summons just because they accidentally keyed in a wrong digit in the ticket number. The barcode system will ensure accuracy,” he added.
Suasa Efektif hopes to introduce the feature to other councils.
Currently, the FlexiParking mobile app is being used by four local councils, namely MPS, Shah Alam City Council, Ampang Jaya Municipal Council and Sepang Municipal Council. However, their version is not yet equipped with the feature to enable payment of summons.
