Government To Build 46,873 Private Affordable Houses Within Three Years
State-owned Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) Selangor will build 30,000 homes in Selangor, while 16,873 homes in other States will be constructed by 11 private housing developers on private land.

The first phase of affordable homes, with a minimum built-up area of 900 sq ft, will be constructed in strategic locations in Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu, Sabah, Selangor, Melaka, and Johor, reported Bernama.

“Although the houses will be built on private land, the Ministry has set conditions that the property should be in major suburbs, near to basic amenities such as transport facilities and schools,” said Zuraida.

“Besides, the developers are also reminded to provide complete infrastructure facilities such as swimming pools, multipurpose halls, surau and playgrounds.”

She added that the Ministry is also engaging in talks to develop 15 to 20 new projects for the second phase of the private affordable housing, which is projected to be finalised by January next year.
