KUALA LUMPUR: MET 1 Residences (MET 1) is on track for completion in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2022 to become the new international trade, commerce, and living centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The 55-storey tower over the 75.5-acre integrated community hub of KL Metropolis is envisaged as Kuala Lumpur's international trade and exhibition district.

MET 1 has a gross development value of RM1.37 billion and comprises an office tower, Somerset serviced apartments, MET 1 Residences and three retail mall levels, which are also under development.

Naza TTDI chief executive officer Daniel Lim said the company looks forward to the delivery of MET 1 Residences by this year and reaffirms its commitment to accelerate the development pace for KL Metropolis, which is expected to be the next most sought-after address for the new generation.

"We have reached the final floor of MET 1 Residences, that is, Level 55, even after two years of the pandemic.

"Our near completion during those difficult times only shows that Naza TTDI is committed to the project and proceed to its full completion," he said in a statement.

KL Metropolis is set to be a micro-city within Kuala Lumpur accessible via four major highways – Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE), North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), SPRINT Highway, and North-South Expressway.

Home to the largest urban park in the Mont Kiara area, its KL Metropolis Park will potentially be the recreation and activity hub for KL's premier international community.

All amenities and facilities are planned to be reachable on foot via elevated pedestrian walkways, while the streets will have pedestrian and cyclist-friendly features such as shaded canopies and bike racks.

"The project also embraces Naza Group's efforts in advocating the environment, social, and governance (ESG) philosophy in our businesses.

"The ESG approach requires a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, good governance, and an aspiration to be a leader in the industry and beyond.

"It is all about sustainability, where facilities must be environmentally-friendly, ensuring the wellbeing of the local communities while addressing the design needs arising from the pandemic," added Lim.
