Younger generation drawn to Darulaman Lagenda in Kedah
Darulaman Lagenda's first phase, which included 282 units of reasonably priced landed homes sold out fully within a few days of the development's launch, says Lagenda Properties Bhd managing director, Datuk Jimmy Doh.

The enormous support from younger generations supported the high demand, he said.

According to sales data, 53 per cent of buyers were between the ages of 20 and 30 while 41 per cent of buyers were between the ages of 31 and 40, Doh said.

Darulaman Lagenda, the largest affordable township in Kedah, is a partnership development between Lagenda Properties and Kedah-based developer Bina Darulaman Berhad.

Phase 1 of the township development consists of landed homes with appealing characteristics, priced from RM200,000 per unit.

"Homeownership has been a constant challenge, and we see more and more people struggling to afford a home to call their own. This is why in developing our homes, we do our utmost to ensure that the lower to mid-level income groups can afford them. This is evident in the quick take-up for Phase 1 of Darulaman Lagenda and the demographics of our buyers.

"For example, 73 per cent of our buyers were from Kedah and Pulau Pinang, 80 per cent were government servants, and 97 per cent were Bumiputera. Given that Phase 1 sold out in less than a week, we are confident that we are making progress in at least mitigating somewhat the affordability crisis in the area," Doh said in a statement.

According to him, Darulaman Lagenda's pricing point is in line with the neighborhood's affordability, which is demonstrated by the significant proportion of customers hailing from Kedah and Pulau Pinang.

He noted that government incentives and measures that encourage civil officials and young purchasers to make long-term investments in the township also contribute to sustaining this affordability.

Lagenda Properties has launched Phase 2 in support of the government's initiative to guarantee a steady supply of affordable homes for the B40 and M40 category.

Considering the affordable price and excellent location, Doh anticipates receiving another round of enthusiastic responses from potential customers.
