Teladan unveils Melaka's first solar-powered homes
KUALA LUMPUR: Teladan Group Bhd will build Melaka's first solar-powered homes.
The developer held a preview of Phase 2A of its 166.3-acre Taman Bertam Heights (TBH) township over the weekend.
TBH Phase 2A includes 352 two-storey terraced and semi-detached houses. It is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026 and has a gross development value of RM242 million.
These forward-thinking homes will not only encourage green living among homeowners but will also save up to 75 per cent on electricity costs.
Teladan's managing director, Richard Teo Lay Ban, said that the launch of TBH Phase 2A reaffirms the company's commitment to creating a sustainable living environment that prioritises the well-being of homebuyers.
"This project marks a significant stride towards a greener, safer, and more connected living experience in Melaka. We are confident that, just like our previous phases, TBH Phase 2A, with its added features, will also receive a positive market response.
"By embracing solar energy, we continue to raise the bar in creating environmentally responsible homes and redefining the concept of sustainable living," he said.
Teo said the company's approach to launching developments remains prudent and tailored to meet market needs.
"As we move forward, we strategically time our developments to align with homebuyers' requirements, all while considering macroeconomic factors such as interest rate levels.
"We plan to incorporate electric vehicle (EV) charging stations into our future developments to encourage the adoption of EVs and play a role in mitigating carbon emissions.
"Ultimately, our goal is to provide ideal homes for families of all sizes and generations, reinforcing our position as the preferred choice for homebuyers in Melaka's property market," he said.
Teladan collaborated with Mercedes-Benz during the preview to provide EV test drives, introducing residents to sustainable transportation.
This collaboration demonstrates the company's commitment to promoting cleaner, greener transportation options, said Teo.
THB was first introduced in February 2022 with the launch of TBH Phase 1B, which had a 98.9 percent take-up rate. TBH Phase 1A was launched in the fourth quarter as a result of this success.
The township's final phase, phase 2B, with an estimated GDV of RM268 million, will be launched next year.
The development is well-equipped with landscaped parks, gardens, a playground area, a clubhouse, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a backlane jogging path, in keeping with the company's commitment to community-centric living.
Teladan has also partnered with Maxis Berhad to provide fibre optic infrastructure so that residents can enjoy high-speed broadband connectivity.
