BATU GAJAH: A total of 180 buyers of Rumah Perakku in Taman Tualang Baru received the keys to their dream home at an event organised by the Perak Housing and Real Estate Authority (LPHP).

"This project comprises three phases. Phase One involves the construction of 190 units of affordable single-storey houses; Phase Two involves 43 units of double-storey houses; and Phase Three comprises 86 units of low-cost single-storey houses.

"Today, we handed over keys to house owners under the first phase who have received the certificate of completion and compliance (CCC) on April 15," she said when officiating the event on behalf of state Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching near here today.

Also present was the Orang Besar Jajahan Kinta Datuk Ab Wahab Azizul Hassan, Kinta District Officer Zulhisham Ahmad Shukori, Batu Gajah District Council (MDBG) chairman Mohamad Razik Ramli and LHPH chief executive officer Mohamed Akmal Dahalan.

Bavani added that the state government always prioritised the need to provide affordable housing for various sectors of the people.

"The current Perak State Housing Policy mandates that every development of a housing scheme that exceeds eight hectares must be built with 10 per cent low-cost houses, 10 per cent medium-cost houses and 20 per cent affordable houses.

"This policy aims to ensure balance in the provision of housing for all income groups and ensure that every housing scheme that exceeds 8 hectares offers a certain number of houses to be sold for as low as RM90,000 per unit," he said.

She added that the sale price of one-storey affordable houses in Taman Tualang Baru is set at a minimum of RM180,000 for each intermediate unit with an area of 1,102 square feet.
