PUTRAJAYA, 25 Okt (Bernama) -- The Task Force on Sick and Abandoned Private Housing Projects (TFST) has successfully revived 371 projects involving 46,139 private housing units with a Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM44.59 billion between January and September this year.

Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu, said 348 of the revived projects have also obtained the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC).

She said 17 delayed projects have also resumed smoothly, and the other six abandoned projects were successfully revived through project completion and buyer settlement methods.

“Of the overall achievements, 25 projects or 4,813 housing units were successfully revived in the month of September alone, with a GDV of RM18.08 billion,” she said in a statement today.

The minister said over the first nine month this year, TFST had identified and monitored 303 delayed projects, 379 sick projects and 113 abandoned projects.

Aiman Athirah said that site visits and close monitoring are essential steps to ensure project progress is carefully tracked, as various issues involving local authorities, technical agencies, and utility providers can be addressed to find the best solutions.

She said that the ministry is also considering extending the appointments of the Selangor Housing and Property Board, Perak Housing and Property Board, Terengganu State Economic Development Corporation, and Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd to expedite the recovery of the 113 abandoned projects.
