Govt Restricts Sale Of Houses Up To RM300,000 For First House Owner - Najib
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has announced that the government will fix the sale of all houses up to RM300,000, limited to first-house owner only.

Najib, who is also the Finance Minister, said it would be effective immediately on all new housing projects.

In addition, he said the government would carry out the Integrated House Ownership Expo Tour, involving houses offered by the National Housing Department (JPN), 1Malaysia People's Housing (PR1MA), Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB), 1Malaysia Government Employees Housing Program (PPA1M), government and private agencies.

"More than 100,000 housing units will be offered under this program," he said at a Special Message Gathering on the 2016 Budget Readjustment, here Thursday.

For the People's Housing Project costing RM35,000, Najib said the government through the Bank Simpanan Nasional and Bank Rakyat, would offer a financing package at the rate of four per cent effective March 1 this year amounting to RM444 million.

"This initiative will benefit more than 10,000 house owners," he said.
