Residents At PPR/PA Flats To Enjoy Multi-level Parking Facilities

Residents at 13 People's Housing Project (PPR) and Public Housing (PA) flats who have been facing parking issues can breathe a sigh of relief as the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has affirmed to build multi-level car park for the residents starting this year.
The project, to be implemented at a cost of RM408 million, would benefit residents at Pekan Kepong, Intan Baiduri, Raya Permai, Seri Pantai, Kampung Baru Air Panas, Hiliran Ampang, Taman Mulia, Desa Tun Razak, Desa Petaling and Semarak PPR flats, as well as at Desa Rejang, Seri Kota and Seri Sabah PA flats.
City Mayor Datuk Seri Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz said the project was a result of a study which revealed the lack of public facilities which had been rampant in those areas.
He said a total of 7,644 parking lots would be provided through the project, as additional spaces from the current 4,965 lots.
"The multi-level car park project at PPR/PA flats is the first in its series and when completed next year, we will look into suitable parking charge to be imposed to the residents to cover costs of management, cleaning service and security guard,"he told reporters here.
The mayor said the residents of the PPR/PA flats would also be given access card and car sticker to enter the guarded car park building to prevent outsiders from parking their vehicles in the area.
At the same time, he said the City Council was also planning to build multi-level car park at public park, such as the Titiwangsa Lake Garden and the Kepong Metropolitan Park.
