MALACCA: A total of 57,503 affordable homes (RMM) will be made available in Malacca by the year 2023.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said 27,000 units of RMM homes will be constructed by state government agencies while 30,000 more units will be completed by private developers.

He also said that 10,704 units were being constructed while 5,929 units have been completed.

“Another 40,000 units would be ready in the next seven years,” he said.

Idris said Malacca has a long term plan to ensure houses are available for the future generation although land bank is considered insufficient.

“We also have kept in mind the fact that some civil servants and middle-class groups have yet to own a house and as such 57,503 RMM units are being set aside for them,” he added.
