5 Tips on How to Get Back into Working Mode
Picture this, you’ve just taken the whole week off to celebrate Chinese New Year, Hari Raya or Deepavali with your folk. In that one week, you’ve stayed up all night catching up with your cousins, playing PS4 with your siblings, having card games with your uncles and aunties, ate so much of home cooked food and woke up after lunch the next day with a peanut hangover.

All in all, you’ve enjoyed the entire holiday immensely. However, as we all know, holidays don’t last forever and before you know it, you have to get back to the daily grind. It doesn’t all have to be a nightmare however, as it’s completely possible to get your momentum back, and here’s how:

Get adequate sleep before the first day back

Make sure that on the Sunday night before you start work, you turn in to bed early so that you have enough sleep for the next day. It’s important to give up any late night partying and socializing. You should also avoid any alcoholic drinks or heavy meals so that your body feels refreshed the next day.

Have a Plan to Catch Up

Make sure you arrange and prioritize work to catch up with everything you’ve missed over the time you were gone. Make sure you get the most urgent ones done first. Plan your objectives by the week so that you can achieve your goals easier.

Tidy Up

Doing some cleaning up of your workspace or your home will help you relax and create a more conducive environment for getting things done. Doing some housework at home is also a great way to de-stress.

Review Your Schedule and Calendar

Make sure you go over all your appointments so that you can refresh your memory and not miss any one. You also need to make sure you are on time for all your appointments and not be late for any one.

Plan Something Fun

In order to ease your Monday blues, plan a small relaxing and fun activity for yourself, as a treat. Take a walk at your favourite park during lunch, have breakfast at a classy café or sip on your favourite coffee to kick those Monday blues away.
