The Selangor State Development (PKNS) has handed over keys to the 864 owners of Residensi Idaman Selangorku (Type D) in Selangor Cyber Valley.

The project consists of two apartment blocks, and the new residents include young families, single working professionals, golden citizens, students, and civil servants.

The apartments have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two parking spaces.

The units, which have a built-up area of 1,000 square feet, are reasonably priced at RM23,000.

The Residensi Idaman Selangorku Type D development also caters to residents with disabilities. For the differently-abled, four units were purpose-built with wheelchair-friendly platforms throughout the apartment.

This project also emphasises natural sunlight, air ventilation, and residents' right to privacy.

According to PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas, Residensi Idaman Selangorku has gone beyond brick and mortar to assist the B40 community in Selangor in settling into their own homes.

Residensi Idaman Selangor is a PKNS project to support the National Affordable Housing Policy, which aims to address the country's housing affordability issues.

Many factors, he claims, were considered to foster a united community and an inclusive living environment with amenities and facilities to improve the well-being of its residents.

"With over 58 years of experience in developing quality residential developments, we are confident that Residensi Idaman Selangorku will be a benchmark for affordable housing in Selangor," he said.

Rodziah Ismail, Selangor state EXCO of Housing, Urban Wellbeing, and Entrepreneurs Development, officiated at the key-handing ceremony.

According to Rodziah, owning a home can be difficult for many people, with housing affordability being a major concern.

"With that in mind, the Selangor State Government, in an effort to promote a competitive economy, has introduced a range of initiatives to provide and improve access to affordable housing," she said.
