The Starhill has a new, fashionable appearance after a two-year transformation
The Starhill, which is part of a portfolio of retail assets owned by Singapore-based Starhill Global REIT has unveiled its new style after a two-year transformation announced in 2019.
The premium shopping mall's architectural masterpiece, which is situated in Kuala Lumpur's Bukit Bintang retail sector, represents its global appeal and commitment to the evolution of Kuala Lumpur into a world-class metropolis.
The mall has a new identity as the "Home of the Tastemakers," where guests and shoppers may enjoy upscale residential-style accommodations and experiential retail in a warm, cosy boutique setting.
The Starhill is a vertical seven-floor development with four stories of experiential retail space and three upper floors housing 162 JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur hotel rooms.
By joining The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur and JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, more than 1100 rooms are connected to The Starhill.
According to Joseph Yeoh, vice president of YTL Land & Development Bhd, The Starhill is a one-of-a-kind retail destination in Malaysia because it has the most hotel rooms incorporated into a vertical development mall.
Yeoh said that the thorough selection of distinctive labels and concept stores that are unmatched in Malaysia is the foundation of The Starhill's success.
According to him, distinctive offerings occupy more than 70 per cent of retail locations.
"Our focus is to offer a holistic experience that goes beyond retail and dining, encapsulated in an intimate space with a sense of familiarity where patrons can escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
"This reinforces The Starhill as the place to be in Bukit Bintang, especially following the unveiling of eslite spectrum [Taiwanese bookstore] after a two-year journey setting up this creative art and cultural destination," he said.
The grand opening of anchor tenant eslite spectrum, which occupies the entire Level 1 of The Starhill covering 70,000 square feet, took place on December 17, 2022.
With its living library concept, this new KL's Living Room, the first eslite flagship shop in Southeast Asia, completes The Starhill's mission of being a home for everyone in the middle of the city and further distinguishes it from other malls.
The cosy environment of the arts and culture destination, which includes multi-labels from Taiwan, Malaysia, and other countries, as well as the renowned eslite bookstore and other creative outlets, encourages return visits from a broad variety of shoppers.
The Starhill is also home to Biologique Recherche, Ivan Young, Okaju, Opera Café, Roberto Cavalli, the Apollo Wellness Center, the Sonos Concept Store by TC Acoustic and Trove.
Audemars Piguet, Balmain, Paul & Shark, Philipp Plein, Roberto Coin, Shiatzy Chen, Stefano Ricci, and Tom Ford are a few further international names that are exclusive to The Starhill.
By the first quarter of 2023, new shops like 2XU and New Era will debut.
