Government Completed 182 Abandoned Private Housing Projects - Halimah
KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 - The government completed 182 abandoned private sector housing projects from 2009 until April this year, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.

Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique said the projects involved 32,641 house buyers.

"It forms 80.5 per cent of the 226 projects involving 40,866 house buyers," she said replying to a question from Datuk Hasbullah Osman (BN-Gerik) who wanted to know efforts taken by the government to help buyers of abandoned housing projects.

The remaining 20 projects were in various stages of recovery while 24 projects were in early planning stage.

Halimah said the government always help buyers of abandoned housing projects by getting capable and experienced developers to take over the projects.

"The government is also undertaking the recovery of abandoned private housing projects for low and medium low cost categories via allocation provided by the federal government."
